Storage groups are a collection of devices that are stored on the array. An application, a server, or a collection of servers use them.
Prerequisites
Storage groups are a collection of devices that are stored on the array, and an application, a server, or a collection of servers use them.
- The storage system is running HYPERMAX OS 5977 or PowerMaxOS 5978.
- The storage system must be local and registered for performance.
Steps

Select the storage system.

Select
to open the
Storage Groups View.

Select a storage group and click
to view its details.

Select
View all Details.

Optional: Choose a day or time to retrieve performance-related data.

Select the
Performance tab.
When selected, a storage group noisy neighbor dashboard is displayed. It helps identify potential issues with storage groups. For a given storage group, the dashboard charts key performance metrics, and also provides details on the relationship between the storage groups and the associated directors and ports. The dashboard also shows other storage groups that are related (they share the same ports) and could also be contributing to performance issues.
Charts are displayed for the following:
- Read and Write response times.
- Host MBs Read and Written per second
- Host reads and writes per second.
- FE Directors - Name, % Busy, and queue depth utilization
- FE Port - Name, % Busy, and host
I/O operations per second
- Related SGs - Name, response time, host
I/O operations per second, and host MBs per second
